With the Government of India's Start-up India initiative, CII has committed to facilitate and support large number of start-ups across the country, who will eventually become the wealth creator and employment generator in the Indian economy.

Start-ups are the seeds of future business of any economy. An industrialized economy thrives upon its existing big organizations and profit making industries which have grown in size and reputation with time, starting themselves from a fledgling businesses or start-ups in the past. All such organizations, big or small, have a lifetime. Hence it is very important to encourage and nurture the new businesses of today, so that it can grow and take part in the economic development of a nation in future.

To take this forward, CII has launched the CII Startupreneurs Award. This award would be positioned as one of the most prestigious recognition from the corporate world to most promising start-ups for their excellence in cutting edge technology and innovation, wealth creation, and employment generation.
